Mystic Stealth harness review: stiffness, weight, sizing, and Stealth vs Evolve

Mystic Stealth Waist Harness 2025

Short answer: the Mystic Stealth is Mystic's top hardshell waist harness. It is a 900 g carbon-composite shell that Mystic rates 9/10 for stiffness and 10/10 for grip, the top of its scale. Buy it if you ride powered and want a shell that stays put. It is sized by waist measurement, and the spreader bar is sold separately.

Mystic's ratings

Mystic scores its hardshells on three things. These are Mystic's numbers; the standard Majestic has no published rating, so the Majestic X is the only like-for-like comparison.

Mystic rating (out of 10) Stealth Majestic X
Stiffness 9 9
Flex 6 3
Grip 10 8
Shell Carbon composite Carbon composite
Weight 900 g not published

Read it this way. Both shells are equally stiff front to back, which is what keeps the pull spread across your back. The Stealth twists more with your body (flex 6 against 3) and grips your waist harder (10 against 8). Mystic calls the Bionic Core Frame stiff horizontally but able to twist and follow you. The grip comes from the Flexagon Drytech lining. Mystic says it does not soak up water, so the harness stays light when wet.

What you get

  • Bionic Core Frame in carbon composite, with the Fly Mold 2.0 shape
  • Non-water-absorbing Flexagon Drytech inner
  • Battle belt closure and Flexcovers that lock the loose webbing away
  • A safety knife pocket built into the Flexcover
  • Adaptive Leash Eye 2.0 included
  • Made for the Stealth Bar Gen 3; no bar in the box

Stealth vs Stealth Evolve

The Stealth Evolve 2026 keeps the same Bionic Core Frame, Fly Mold 2.0, battle belt, Flexcovers and 900 g weight. The change is materials. The frame is made from 100% recycled carbon fibre, and the padding is a bio-based EVA foam. Mystic has not published a separate stiffness or grip rating for it. If you want the Stealth ride with a lower-impact build, it is the one; if you want the widest choice of sizes and colours, the 2025 Stealth is.

Which size

Measure your waist at bellybutton height. Mystic's unisex Stealth chart, with the spreader bar that goes with each size:

Size Waist (in) Waist (cm) Stealth Bar
XXS 24"–28" 60–70 240 mm
XS 26"–30" 67–77 240 mm
S 29"–33" 75–84 240 or 280 mm
M 33"–35" 82–91 280 mm
L 35"–38" 89–96 280 or 320 mm
XL 37"–41" 94–104 320 mm
XXL 41"–45" 102–114 320 mm

The women's Stealth has its own chart: XS 24"–28", S 27"–30", M 29"–33", L 32"–37". A women's M covers the same inches as a unisex S. Both charts are on the harness sizing page.

Honest limit

The Stealth costs about $636 before the bar, and it needs one. The Stealth Bar Gen 3 Freeride is about $168, so plan on roughly $804 all in. Owners of the bar like how the stiff bar wings lock into the shell with no ride-up. The common complaint is the lever buckle, which takes a firm pinch to open with cold or gloved hands. Mystic has not published a weight or ratings for the Majestic, so we cannot tell you in numbers how much more the Stealth gives you over it. And a hardshell's fit depends on your torso shape as much as your waist number. We have no Stealth-specific sizing reports. Owners of the Majestic X, which uses the same chart, often say it runs large. If you sit between two sizes, the gear advisor can help you choose.

FAQ

Does the Mystic Stealth harness come with a spreader bar?

What size Stealth harness for a 34-inch waist?

A M on the unisex chart, which covers 33"–35" (82–91 cm), with a 280 mm bar. On the women's chart, 34" falls in the L (32"–37").

Stealth or Majestic X?

Both are rated 9/10 for stiffness. The Stealth grips harder (10 against 8) and twists more with your body (flex 6 against 3). As of this post the Majestic X 2024 is $599.99 and the Stealth 2025 is $635.99.
