Playful yet powerful, the Astra delivers out-of-this-world performance to lighter riders. We've built the 2027 Astra with a responsive flex for riders with a smaller build, delivering increased control in a range of conditions, greater comfort, and softer landings - without sacrificing performance. The Astra's smaller proportions, narrower stance, and lightweight biaxial hybrid carbon construction with 3DY reinforcement provide riders of all levels with just the right amount of flex. With an efficient bottom shape and rocker, the board feels fast through the water and flies upwind. Consistent, dependable rail grip. Clean and powerful pop. Sending it was never this easy.

What makes it work.
Biaxial Hybrid Carbon Technology
Using a 380gsm e-glass with 3DY Carbon allows us to tailor a board's weight and overall flex pattern for lighter winds or riders while maintaining its lively feel, lower weight, and pop.
Optimised for lighter-weight riders
Astra's new lightweight biaxial woven e-glass laminate layup has a responsive torsional flex pattern to suit lighter riders. Size range, length & width proportions are also tailored to suit.
Narrower stance
More precise foot positioning enables smaller riders to remain in control throughout every manoeuvre and landing. The Astra 's stance is 20mm narrower in all sizes compared to the Atmos's.
3DY-Beam Technology
North exclusive 3DY Carbon Unidirectional reinforcement tape is run in the direction of the load paths, transferring the load from your bindings to the edge efficiently.
Precise edge control
Balanced rocker, outline and flex create a quick-response board for powerful upwind tracking and Big Air boosts. Quad channel tips push water flow out towards the fins for effective tracking.
Double concave to deep-v spine
Absorbs impact by breaking the water surface tension to deliver smooth, predictable landings. Edge channels outside of the double concave help deliver even greater control.
Medium-high outline curve
Delivers easy carving through turns and always provides optimised grip.
