ShiftLock Handle - Carbon 2024

The ShiftLock Carbon handles provide an instant reaction to your input, with the bonus of being able to slide and lock into infinite positions. Carbon ShiftLock handles are purchased separately from the wing, which makes it easy to find your perfect setup. There are five carbon handle lengths, from the single 1100 or 950 boom to the 500, 400, and 250 mm handles. Follow the size chart to determine the best handle combination for your wing size. If you're a more experienced rider and you know what you want, then you've got the option to either downsize or go for a boom. The boom is your lightest handle option. It only has two connection points, so the overall weight is lower than two separate handles with four mounts. This suits a rider wanting a lighter rig for lighter winds and larger wings. The boom is also the most cost-effective option and would suit any rider's ability; its more forgiving because it allows you to slide your hand up and down during tacks. The smaller 250 handles target the more advanced rider looking for targeted positioning. The ShiftLock 1100M Boom is not compatible with the Nova Pro 2.9M

All wing sizes are compatible with ShiftLock 250mm Carbon handles, however for Wing sizes 6m and over, we recommend the 1100 Boom or 2x 500mm Handles.
A 3.5m wing is compatible with ShiftLock Carbon Boom 1100mm, however, only the 950 Boom can be combined with the ShiftLock Action Camera Mount.
The 2.9m Nova Pro is compatible with only the 950 Boom or Handles. The 1100 Boom will not fit.
All wings are compatible with the ShiftLock Carbon J-Handle (400mm)
250 Handles can be used on any wing with any front/rear handle combination
To avoid damage to handle grip, use only North Harness Loops and accessories (sold separately)

What makes it work.

Choosing your handle length

There are five handle lengths to choose from: the 1100 and 950 boom, 500, 400 and 250 mm handles. There is also a front J-Handle, available as a separate product.

1100 or 950mm Boom

The boom is our lightest handle option, the most cost-effective, and would suit any rider’s ability.

Light weight

The new ShiftLock handle system is similar in weight to our current GripLock handles. Two 500mm ShiftLock Carbon handles (with the track) are lighter than two standard GripLock 500mm handles.

Proven strength

Proven strength and durability on and off the water. Lab testing shows that ShiftLock can hold phenomenal loads; it has a breaking load of well over 710kg.

Slide and Lock into position

We've printed positioning marks on the strut to show the centre point for the recommended 500mm or 400mm handles; from there, you can tailor it to suit your riding style.
