Stabilizer pairing by front-wing series: SF surf wings need a Surf or Glide Series stabilizer ("Because the SF front wings operate at such low speed without stalling, you need a stabilizer that does the same"); S185/S215 pair with SF wings; Speed stabs (S158v2/S178v2/S208v2) pair with small fast wings (S158v2: HA550-750, MA500v2-850v2); Glide stabs (S122/S142/S192) for downwind/pump/prone; pair S210 with a smaller front wing, S320 with a larger one

Every North Sonar front wing ships as Front Wing + Cover + M8 wing screw pack only - a complete foil additionally needs mast, fuselage and stabilizer (the Foil Editions supply exactly those three plus tools/bag, with front wings sold separately)

Aluminium (AF) masts mount to the board via the AF Board Adaptor - every AF mast spec row lists BOARD ADAPTOR "AF-FOIL" and the adaptor is "for the AF55, AF72 and AF85 masts"; carbon CF and UHM masts list BOARD ADAPTOR "N/A" (one-piece, direct track mount)

Foil-to-board mounting screws: sold separately with Foil Editions ("Mounting hardware is provided with all North Foil Boards or can be purchased separately"); every North foilboard includes a DropBox Screw Pack (typically 4x M8x30mm + 4 T-nuts, pre-installed in the track). Exceptions: Boost (no screws - FoilDrive hardware comes with the FoilDrive System), Sense (4x M8x23mm four-point screw-in, no track), Vector Deep Tuttle screws/washers not included

GeoLock is the Sonar mast-to-fuselage connection: "unique GeoLock tapered geometry locking system provides a more effective load-bearing connection between the Mast and Fuselage". It is unchanged in the 2027 "+" generation, where the new + system only changes the frontwing-to-fuselage interface (monobloc junction on C600+/C650+/C700+ fuselages and SF v2+ wings)

North Sonar is one system: any Sonar front wing, stabilizer, fuselage and mast fit together (verified). Cross-brand foil combinations are unverified — recommend human confirmation.

Beginner foil kit rules of thumb: board = bodyweight + ~20kg in litres minimum (80kg rider -> 100L+); mast 55-72cm to keep falls shallow and reactions fast (85cm becomes the day-to-day standard once progressing, better over chop; 55 exists in alloy only); front wing as big as possible (1850/2200 class by weight — the larger lifts earlier); the longest fuselage for pitch stability; a bigger stabilizer for control — smaller stabs are only faster, and speed is not the beginner's goal.
