What size wing do I need?

Wing pages publish a wind-range chart image rather than a table; general guide for a ~80 kg rider: 6–7m for 10–16 kn, 5m for 15–22 kn, 4m for 20–28 kn, 3–3.5m for 28+ kn. Lighter riders size down.

Board volume rule: floaters (novice-intermediate, kneeling/standing starts, light wind) = bodyweight in kg + 30-40L; sinkers (advanced) = 25-30L under bodyweight — avoid the -10 to -20L half-floating zone, a fully-submerged sinker is more stable than one breaking the surface.

Beginner foil kit rules of thumb: board = bodyweight + ~20kg in litres minimum (80kg rider -> 100L+); mast 55-72cm to keep falls shallow and reactions fast (85cm becomes the day-to-day standard once progressing, better over chop; 55 exists in alloy only); front wing as big as possible (1850/2200 class by weight — the larger lifts earlier); the longest fuselage for pitch stability; a bigger stabilizer for control — smaller stabs are only faster, and speed is not the beginner's goal.

Always inflate a wing to the pressure printed on the wing itself (on the side / near the valve); when installing ShiftLock parts, use the pinch clamp to seal the strut off from the leading edge and inflate just the strut to its recommended pressure first, then fully inflate the whole wing to the printed PSI before riding.

Parawings (Ranger, Rover) are complete in the box - Parawing + Carbon Control Bar + Onwater Backpack (Rover adds Depower Slider) - no separate control system needed; the rider still needs a foilboard + foil. Rover Control Bar sizes: S=330mm, L=400mm
